Today we are hanging out at home. I had the day off and Jack had jury duty so we are all home today. But I just wanted to add some pictures of over the past few days!

Holden's Best Friend

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Meet Holden's best friend Campbell. He is the little boy I watch and on Tuesday, I came back to work. He is soo sweet and such a happy boy, a little jealous at times (like when he's tired) but what else do you expect out of an almost 11 month old? He is so stinkin cute and loves Holden. I can tell already that they are going to be best friends. Here are so super cute pictures I took of the two of them on Tuesday and Wednesday!

Campbell checkin out Holden

Cam is already sharing his toys with him

I left for 8 weeks and when I came back Cam is pulling up on everything! Such a big boy!

Guess who's EEG came back normal?!? I finally remembered to call the doctor this morning and the nurse called me back within minutes to let me know that Holden's EEG came back completely normal! YAAA HOOO!! Like we didn't already know he was ok! ha! So the plan was to wean him off of the phenobarbital if it came back normal BUT the lady he is seeing at the neurologist office is out of town but the nurse made a note to ask her about it and she is supposed to call me when she gets back. So it looks like we might still be on it for a few more weeks but I can deal with that! Thank you for all of the thought and prayers as we have been going through all of this for the past 7 and a half weeks! Now here are some cute ones of our normal, healthy baby boy!

After bath time
His diaper says "Poop is a gift from God" At one of my baby showers they had people write messages on diapers for me and I was using them at night until they started rubbing off on his clothes.

Last Saturday morning

This morning my Grandparents stopped by to visit for a little bit and Holden was up the whole time but not long after they left he was out.
He LOVES his blankets
Yes my child is watching TV! ha!
I think he liked watching Ice Age

This is how he fell asleep waiting on Nana the other day... One blanket by his face, Pop Pop's shirt that he pulled down on the other side and his favorite blanket under his hands
This is Holden's Great- Grandma Hansen(My Grandma) on New Years Day

Georgia fan? I think so!

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

I know his Daddy is not going to be happy but I think that we have a Georgia fan on our hands! ha! Yesterday Holden and I had to go to Jared's to pick up Jack's ring he was having sized and we stopped by Mom and Billy's house to hang out with Holden's Pop Pop (Jack's dad Big Jack) while he did a little painting and wait for everyone to get home. And here are some cute pictures that we took after Nana got home. I have some more super cute ones on her computer but we couldn't get the internet to work.

My Mom's dog Chatt is OBSESSED with babies! He always has been. He is sooo old and we never know how much longer he is going to live but every time I walk in the door now he fallows Holden around everywhere he goes. I think this is just so cute cause Chatt loves him so much!
So on Monday some of yall know that I had to go to jury duty. I was not looking forward to this at all and did not want to have to leave Holden. My Mom took off the day and I knew he would be just fine I just didn't want to have to leave him for what could be all week. So Mom got here and was super excited to stay and play with Holden all day while I was gone and I went the half a mile, it really is probably less than that, to the courthouse. I couldn't even get in the parking lot at the courthouse because sooo many people were reporting for jury duty. So I finally made my way in signed in and stood in the hall waiting. A few min later a lady came out and said she had two chairs open in a room that someone could go sit in so the girl next to me and I went into this room with at least 60-70 other people to sit. An hour and a half goes by and nothing is happening and we have all been sitting for an hour and a half in this tiny little room. I was talking to this sweet girl I met in the hall who came in and sat next to me just about Holden and how I didn't want to leave him and he little boy and just about our birth stories and our boys. So finally after an hour and a half they come in and say they are releasing everyone in the hall to go and they will have to call back tomorrow. Great.... I'm so glad I took this chair.... I could be leaving now and going home to my baby. Then she come in our room and says she is going to let people go and that the top 20 numbers that are still left are going to have to stay. I'm number 5... wonderful.. I am here for good. The next thing I know this sweet lady who had to be in her mid to late 70'5 and had been sitting behind me in this tiny room and could hear me talking about Holden. You could tell just had surgery or something done to her foot, is in an air cast, and has a walker and can't barely move at all went up to the lady calling out numbers to stay and asked if someone could switch numbers. The lady just kind of looked at her when she went on to tell her about how I just had a baby and she wanted to switch places with me so I could go. This is where I began to fight with her telling her I would not let her change places with me and she needed to go home and get her foot better. She told me no she had had 4 babies and told me to go home and take care of mine! I was in shock and wanted to cry! The lady calling the numbers told her she could take my place if she wanted and since I was a new Mom I was released for jury duty all together!
This sweet lady came and took my place so I could come home and sit in my PJ's all day with my sweet boy. I am still in shock of how amazing she was. It just makes me so thankful that God is in my life. He did the same thing. He sent his Son Jesus to die on the cross for us so that we could live our lives. It just amazes me how someone could do something like this for others. This sweet old lady did not have to give up her free pass to leave but she did for me. So this week try to pass this kind of love on to a stranger or someone who you know needs a break. And do something just because it makes someone live easier even if it gives you more work and share the love!

Ok I'm obsessed!

Ok I have to confess I am just beyond obsessed with my sweet baby! He is just so much fun and is changing so much every day! Here are a cute new pics from today!

1 month reminders..

Monday, January 25, 2010

I can't believe that my sweet baby is already 5 and a half weeks old! The past 6 weeks have gone by so fast and I am loving every min of having this sweet boy in our life. He just makes us so happy and and has the best little personality. I want to be able to remember everything about him when he gets older. I saw this idea on a few other blogs and love it. I am just going to list some things that Holden is up to each month so it is easier to look back and see how much they he will change.

This was before his 1 month doctors appt.
I love this outfit

His first time taking a nap in his bed! Today I was trying to clean out his closet and put clothes up so I layed him in there for his nap and he loved it! The blanket was the one that he got while he was in the NICU.

This was from my parents house yesterday after his first trip to church! He did so good and slept almost the whole time

We did leave Holden for the first time Saturday night with Nana Anna and Papa Billy for about an hour so that Jack and I could go to dinner. I think he slept the whole time. This was before we left I think Chatt and Bebe thought that they were in charge of watching him! ha! So here are a few things I want to remember:
  • He is still in newborn clothes and diapers. But I have started putting 0-3 month clothes on him in the past week just because he is so long and I wanted to see some different clothes.
  • He eats about 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours during the day and about 3-4oz every 3 or more hours at night
  • Most night he goes at least 4 hours between feedings
  • He is a great eater and doesn't mind either breastfeeding or bottle feeding
  • He is starting to smile when you talk to him- this is sooo cute and I lOVE it
  • He loves his paci but spits it out to sleep
  • He loves being in the car and falls asleep as soon as we put him in his car seat
  • He is still on his meds once a day but hopefully soon will be coming off of them
  • Right now his eyes are still blue! Jack and I both have had brown eyes our whole life but both Jack's dad and grandfather have blue eyes
  • His new favorite thing is to sleep on his stomach. He loves this so much and is out as soon as you lay him down
  • Yesterday was his first trip to church and he did great!
  • He is loved soo much by so many people
  • His hands are always up by his face or together

Holden we love you so much and are so happy to have you!
