Blogging

Thursday, May 27, 2010

I have a confession. I am addicted to blogs/blogging/reading blogs/{still trying to} make my own blog design. I love them. I love seeing what other people in other parts of the country are going thru each day. I do a lot of my blogging while at work when the boys are napping and I love this time. The house is quiet and their isn't Sesame Street or Blue's Clues on the TV. I love this quiet time I have. And since I am not often around other adults during the day, I feel like reading the blogs of other Mom's kinda keeps me connected to some adult interaction.

I spend all day during the week chasing a {now} walking 14 month old and the sweetest 5 month old that I could ever have asked for! I am obsessed with these boys and they are my life. But every now and then the diapers and someone always wanting something gets a little rough and it's nice just to turn off all the sound around and sit down and hang out reading your favorite blogs.

For me, I started blogging to keep up with all of our many family members that live so far away from Kansas to Florida. I love filling them in on what we do from day to day. I also starting blogging to be able to have a scrapbook for us. I love scrapbooking! I love all the cute papers and cute designs and I LOVE designing things like that but really, by the time I get home I would rather spend time with my awesome husband and rock star baby! They are my whole world and Jack and I love just spending time with our sweet little boy and enjoying every minute with him! He is changing SO much every day and is so much fun!

So my big blog project lately has been to come up with and create my own blog background. It is soooo much fun going thru and seeing all the cool things that you can do if you just give it a little time and effort! So I started this process oh about a month ago and work on it a few times a week..... if I have time. I have met and awesome girl named Kendra who started making her own blogs and has her own website now where she will make them for you and she has been a big help! On a little side note she was also married the same year and Jack and I AND she has the cutest little 5 month old also!

So my process has been long and still not there. And they tell you to make a sample blog so that you don't actually mess up anything big on your blog while trying out new things. So I have been using my made up sample blog Holdenshut.blogspot.com to try out my new stuff! I made the background and now I am working on why it doesn't fit to size and soon the new header!

But the boys are both awake now so time to start more playing, feeding and diaper changing : )

Criss Cross Applesauce

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

So I take t my sweet boy isn't that fond of applesauce by its self! HA! He was just staring at my food so I wanted to try to give him just some applesauce. Usually I mix a tiny bit in his oatmeal but he has never had it by himself! The funnest part was he kept eating it and didn't spit any out!

He also had a BIG day yesterday because he rolled over for the first time!! YAAHHOOOO!!! He sleeps on his stomach so I laid him down and went to lay Cam down in his room and when I came back Holden had rolled over! I didn't see him do it this time but I did see him later on that night on his video monitor when he did it! WAY TO GO HOLDEN!!!

Summer time is {almost} here!

Yesterday we took Holden swimming for the first time! He LOVED it and played in the water for over a hour! I was so surprised since the water was a little cold and he has just starting bathes. I really thought that he would freak out as soon as he got in but he just sat in his crab kicking his legs like crazy! Future Michael Phelps??? Maybe! HA!! I am so glad that was like it so much cause Jack and I love the pool and the beach! Here are some pictures from our big day!

He loved his crab float
He just sat there watching everyone

This is the life!

Checkin out his float

I think Daddy thought him how to splash me!

After playing he crashed in his stroller just in time for us to eat a yummy dinner!
Even with his little butt in he air!

You are my sunshine

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy

When skys are grey
You'll never know Holden
How much I love you
Please don't take

My sunshine away.

These were some pictures we took last week. I just wish he would have smiled in one! Ha! I love them anyways and my sweet boy!

Fun with Campbell!

Last Thursday was such a beautiful day here so I wanted to do something fun outside with Cam while Holden was napping. So I filled up the two biggest bowls I could find with water, put Cam in his bathing suit and let him go to town! He had SOOO much fun and we played for over two hours outside! That afternoon both boys were so tired they both took two hour naps! Here are some of the many pictures I took of them playin!

Not so sure at first....
Then he figured out it was just water and he LOVED it!

Splashing away

When Holden woke up we went and got him and brought him out with us
He loves Cam so much

Hanging out in the swing

I love these little toes

Campbell had so much fun playing on everything

Hey trucks need baths too! Ha!

I think he thought his football needed a bath too!
We had such a fun day and it was a good way to kick off summer!

The grass in greener on this side

Yesterday was such a beautiful day! I took the boys outside in the afternoon after naps and they had so much fun! Cam was busy playing with everything and crawling and walking everywhere and this sweet boy had his first time playing in the grass! Here are some pictures that I took on my phone!

Oh those sweet feet!
So sweet
He loved playing in the grass and just kept running his hands thru it.

At first he wasn't sure about it
Then he just loved it!
I hope that you are all having a wonderful week!

We are really excited to go to Mom and Billy's house tomorrow to help pack up the house! They finally found a house close to us and we are SOOOO excited to have them right down the street and can't wait for them to move. It is going to be kinda weird since that has been "home" for 18 years. We moved in that house when I was 8 and we have lots of memories there. We have had the most amazing neighbors and now they are like our family! We just can't wait for them to get to their new house, make it their home and make lots of new memories there!

Happy 5 Month Birthday Holden!

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Today my sweet baby boy turned 5 months old! Time is going by so fast and I am enjoying every minute with him! Here is a little of what Mr. Holden is up to at 5 months:
H is now is 3-6 month clothes.... well mostly. He is still in 0-3 month shorts and 6-9 month sleepers. Long boy! Lol!
He is now in size 2 diapers. These are big around on him too but they come up further on him so they are better for stopping leaks.
He now is trying really hard to sit up and roll over! I think he will be doing both of these really soon!
He now reaches and plays with toys.
Is now eating about 5 oz every 3-4 hours and still waking up once or twice a night. We tried to start him on rice cereal about a month ago, but it hurt his stomach so we just started again this week. Rice still hurts his stomach and he doesn't like it that much so we are going with oatmeal. So maybe soon that will help him sleep a little more.
Every month I do his hand and foot on these but this month, the ink pad almost stained his foot. So we decided not to do his hand.
He LOVES his paci and blanket! I have tried to find more of these blankets for him but they are out of stock everywhere. And I do mean everywhere. I have looked so many places and all over the internet and can not find them. Luckily I have two! ha!

He is such a happy baby and loves being talked to and held and also loves to flirt.

His blue eyes are still sticking around. I keep thinking that they are going to change and this morning they looked brown but they are still blue.

He now loves they bath! Thank goodness! It was so hard for me to hear him scream every time I would put him in there. But just last week I got him a new bath tub that looks like a duck and he loves it! He learned how to splash and loves when I put some toys in!

He is still sleeping in our room, but not sure how much longer that will last. He scoots now to the cradle top every night and I think it might wake him up. And since he is almost rolling over he won't be able to in the cradle. But for any naps at home he does take all of those in his own room.
He is just such a sweet boy and We love him more than anything!
