Baby boy prego update

Friday, September 16, 2011

Some of you may already know that I have been to the doctor many time over the past week. {Like 4.. it was starting to get a little crazy} And this post is going to be super long but I know I have had MANY people ask me about all these doctors appt so here it is!
It all started last Wednesday, Sept. 7th for my normal 19/20 week checkup and ultrasound where they do all the baby measurements and you get to see the gender... again just in case : ) And yes, he is still a boy! Well it all started by Jack meeting me there for this appt so not only could he be there for the appt and ultrasound and see our sweet boy but also to keep Holden entertained. I usually never bring him with me to doctors appts but I knew Jack was coming this time and he could watch him. To make a crazy long story short-ish I was in the office for over TWO hours which is waaayyyy too long for not only me to wait but to have Holden wait and Jack miss work for. It was just a lot of confusion on the girl who I saws side and she deff did not DOES NOT have her things together.
So while at the office for 2 hours I have my ultrasound done and sweet baby boy #2 is measuring just perfectly and is doing great. And then when in a room with this lady later I am telling her about all the contractions that I have been having. Pretty much she tells me I am going to keep having them during this pregnancy and doesn't seem to care too much. She then goes onto say I only need to call the doc if more than 5 or 6 for more than an hour or two. Check out a few more things and is gone. Listen to sweet boys heartbeat? Nope. {Good thing I just had in my ultrasound.} So off we go two hours after getting to the office.

I get home and two or three hours later someone from the docs office calls. Umm we need you to come back in on Friday to re-check my blood pressure. Um what are you talking about I was just there for over TWO hours and no one said a word about my blood pressure. Anyways make an appt Friday, go in and waited for over an hour for this same lady to come in the room and listen to baby boys heartbeat{insert here where I am pretty sure she left bruises on my after not being able to find baby's heartbeat on the left side. I even told her he was laying on the right and could feel him and she went on her way pushing as hard as she could. And yes I told her it hurt!} and that's it. The nurse had taken my BP earlier when I had first got there and that was it. Not lets check it once then again when I have been in a room for a few mins and see what it is but once. So since I had just gotten there and was running to get there on time and then wait for over an hour for that I am sure it was high again. I was NOT happy to say the least! She then instructs me to come back on Monday for blood work and wants me to do a 24 hour urine collection{I know way too much TMI!} because I must always have high BP{Note I had been to other appts with other docs 3 times since being prego and not once was it high}

So home I go. I go back on Monday and was in and out in less than 20 min since I just had to have my blood drawn. There they tell me to make an appt for Thursday{yesterday} to come in and get results. This time I let them know that I DO NOT want to see the lady from last week and anyone else is just fine just not her. So I went in yesterday and saw the another lady I had seen before and really like and had a MUCH better experience. I was in and out in 30 min and she came in listened to his heartbeat while barely placing the doppler on my belly and went over all test results and even answered a few questions I had about delivery and the hospital. It turns out ALL of my tests came back completely normal and my BP yesterday was 138/80 so much better. So for now, no high BP which I knew already and back to monthly visits.

With no chance of me EVER wanting to see that other lady again!!

So there you have it! Way too much info but its all here! : )

I love you this big

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

I do have to say I have quite the little charmer on my hands. Remember months ago when Scotty won American Idol and he released his new single I love you this big? Well the day after he won, he was on some morning tv show and was singing it. I knew at that second that that would be an easy way to teach Holden how "big" I love him. I started telling him I love you this big and would hold my hands out as far as I could stretch. It didn't take long for him to catch on at all and soon he was doing this when I ask him "Holden how big does Mommy and Daddy love you"
He holds his hands out as far as he can

This was the same day I asked him again and now he holds his hands out and goes "tis big"
Love this little guy so big!!

Four years ago today was one of the best days of my life. I was so lucky not not only meet the most amazing man but be able to marry him. It was such a beautiful{SUPER hot day} that I will never forget. We gathered about 175 of our closest friends and family members and headed south to the beautiful Jekyll Island. See that was about a half way point for us up in north GA and his family in south FL. It was just perfect. The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there any everyone got a nice relaxing weekend away.

It was just perfect. That day 4 years ago is one that I will never forget. And now I look back on everything that we have been thru in the past 4 years and it is just amazing. We have had more fun together than ever. Welcomed the most amazing little boy into the world and about to welcome another. We have laughed until our bellies hurt. We have cried over watching our baby go thru so much and not knowing what would become. We have loved. Love that is so strong it has gone thru anything and everything.

I think we are strong and better today than ever. We are just so blessed beyond imagine and thank God for all that he has given us. I love ya babe and heres to another 4 years+ 100!

You Tube

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

I think I may need to change the title of this post to Obsessed... Holden has been completely obsessed with you tube lately. Well not so much the actual site but "choo-choos" {trains} Holy moly. I have learned that if I even turn my back for a second he will climb in the computer chair demanding choo choo to come up and if he can't find it himself {which he can't}he just proceeds to click the mouse one hundred and fifty times in hopes someone will come along and find a choo choo for him. I don't even dare link his favorite video here. If I did you all would be singing Choo Choo train, Fruit Fruit until you were going crazy.
To go along with his obsession, of course he has a bunch of little trains and tracks. Some of which we have bought but mostly given to us. We are super lucky to have some amazing neighbors whos kids are starting to outgrow some of their train things and they pass some things on to Holden.
And of course their is Holden's favorite person in the whole world {besides of course me, Dada, Papa and Nana- those are deff his favs} but I think he would move in with our neighbors Kri-ka and Nandy{Krista and Andy} if I would let him. It MAY be partly because every time he sees them they pull up a choo choo on their phones on You Tube for Holden to watch. Plus they have three boys that Holden LOVES to chase around and play with. We actually walked out the door this morning and he ran to their door. Oh this child.

He is just growing up so fast and I know before I know it I will be planning his SECOND birthday.... oh my I'm not ready for that yet

Rub a Dub Dub

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Rub-A-Dub-Dub Holden's in the tub! This little guy of mine LOVES his bath time! A few weeks ago I tried bribing, yes I said bribing, him to sit in eat lunch one day with the promise to go to the store when we left and buy him a replica of his hero Buzz or Woody{from his obsession Toy Story} depending on what we could find. We started our search at Target and found nothing. Not one little doll or toy or anything.
So we headed to Babies R Us. Surly they have something there right. Nope. Not one single thing either. BUT what we did find {since I was on a mission to find him something Toy Story-ish was some bubble bath with all the characters on the front.
You would have thought that I had given him gold. Sure enough that night he was asking for bo-ble in his bath. So like any good mom of a toddler I gave in and filled his bath with tons of bubbles.
He LOVED every minute of his bubble bath and we have had MANY more since. Oh and just so you know about 3 days later Target filled their dollar section with all kinds of Buzz and Woody items. Seriously??
Holden I don't think you are supposed to eat the bubbles.
I do plan on making a trip to Target dollar rack in the very near future to stock up on every Buzz and Woody item I can find. We have a SUPER long drive {like 11+ hours} coming up very shortly and I want to have something to hand back every now and then when he starts to get car seat crazy.
